God wants to make himself known. Jesus prayed, “Father, I have manifested who you really are and I have revealed you” – John 17:6. God the Father, who is a spirit being, needed a physical body on earth to make himself known through and that body was the Lord Jesus Christ. Scripture declares, “Christ is the visible image of the invisible God.” – Colossians 1:15. Jesus said, “Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father!” – John 14:9
God wants to make himself known. This lies at the heart of the great commission, “And he said to them, “As you go into all the world, preach openly the wonderful news of the gospel to the entire human race!” – Mark 16:15. God wants you and the entire human race to know him. Therefore, he left instructions for us to tell others about him.
Jesus is now in heaven but still wants to make the invisible God known. He now needs a body on earth to reveal God. That body is the body of Christ. “All of you together are Christ’s body, and each of you is a part of it.” – 1 Corinthians 12:27. To accomplish this, he sent Holy Spirit to indwell us and manifest through us. “But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all” – 1 Corinthians 12:7.
Yes, God wants to be known. Will you partner with him to accomplish this? Be filled with Holy Spirit, be available to him, earnestly desire the manifestation of God’s presence, and step out in faith expecting the invisible God to be made visible through you.
“I will make myself known to all the nations of the world. Then they will know that I am the LORD.” – Ezekiel 38:23 - By David Cannnon
