Faith in God: The Bridge and Pipeline of God’s Provision

Prayer, laying hands on the sick for healing, commanding mountains of problems to move out of our way, confessing or declaring God’s word over situations, or any other spiritual activity we are engaged in, are not the “bridge” by which God’s provision is carried into our situations.  These are not the “pipeline” through which flow the will of God in heaven becoming the will of God on earth. For example, If prayer alone were the bridge and pipeline to transport God’s power, blessings and provisions from Him into our situations, then we would likely be witnessing many more answers to prayer than we currently are. Buddhist pray, Muslims pray, Hindus pray, Christians Pray and the list of those who pray goes on and on. God, in His graciousness, has given us many ways to access His solutions. These ways are like “points of contact” in which we can release our faith.

Faith is the “bridge” and “pipeline” by which God’s provisions are carried and flow. Prayer without faith will rarely see positive results. Without faith being activated, laying hands on the sick, commanding mountains to throw themselves into the sea, confessing and declaring God’s word over situations, etc. will fall short of accomplishing the desired results. Results follow the release of faith.

Consider the following Scriptures as they relate to results following the release of faith:

  • “the prayer of faith shall heal the sick”  James 5:15
  • “your faith has made you well” – Matthew 9:22
  • “let it be done for you according to your faith” – Matthew 9:29
  • if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, “Move from here to there,’ and it will move; nothing will be impossible for you” – Matthew 17:20
  • “These signs will accompany those who believe” – Mark 16:17
  • “If anyone is deficient in …he should ask God… and it will be given to him. But he must ask in faith” – James 1:5-6

Unbelief kept many of the Israelites from accessing the Promise of God’s word, the Promised Land? However, those who believed entered in and possessed the promise of God. Hebrews chapter 11 is often referred to as the “faith chapter” because it is filled with stories of people who through faith, overthrew their enemies, received what God had promised them, had their weaknesses turned into strengths, and accomplished the impossible. Faith in God and His word is the bridge and the pipeline through which we can do the same.

Anyone can obtain faith. Faith will come to you if you will consistently plant God’s word in your heart. “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” – Romans 10:17 As God’s word is received into the soil of a believers heart, the results of thirty times as much, sixty times as much, or even one hundred times as much will follow (See Mark 4:20). The soil of your heart is similar to the soil of the earth. When God’s word or kingdom enters into the soil, “By itself the soil produces a crop, first the stalk, then the head, then the full grain in the head” – Mark 4:28

Don’t let the devil, the difficulties or the delays convince you to discard your faith. Once you have stepped out in faith, don’t back down. Stand your ground and having done all to stand, stand. Patient endurance is what you need now.

“So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you! Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that he has promised” – Hebrews 10:35-36
