What are you picturing in your mind? According to Proverbs 23:7, “as he thinks within himself, so is he”. The thoughts, pictures in your mind and imagination, affect how you experience life. Who you see yourself being and what you see yourself doing is the direction your life will take. What are you allowing to be painted on your minds canvas? Words paint pictures. The words you read, the words you hear and the words you speak paint a picture in your mind. Whatever that picture is, either works for you or against you.
This is why it’s of the upmost importance to let Holy Spirit paint the truth of God’s word in our hearts. Lasting transformation comes from the inside out. Truth imagined will become truth manifested. “.. let God transform you… by changing the way you think.” – Romans 12:2.
Reading the Bible is great. However, you cannot jut read the Bible and expect it to produce change in your life. You have to “see” what you are reading, allowing God’s Spirit to make it come alive inside you, so it can become manifested outside you. For example, you may pray for healing, knowing the Scriptures say, “By His stripes we were healed”, yet, do you “see yourself healed”? Have you imagined yourself walking without pain or living each day free from whatever has been afflicting you?
Positive thinking won’t get you into heaven but it will help you experience more of heaven on earth. As you yield your God given imagination to God, expect Him to paint His vision for your life upon it. For, “When there is no clear prophetic vision, people quickly wander astray. But when you follow the revelation of the Word, heaven’s bliss fills your soul.” – Proverbs 29:18
